About Us

The Challenge

Our local food economy is fragmented.
Chenango County is rich in talent, tradition, and agricultural heritage, yet too often these assets operate in isolation.

Farmers grow exceptional products but struggle to reach new markets. Regional restaurants and chefs want to source locally but lack consistent connections to local producers. Small food businesses need opportunities to grow. Visitors pass through without discovering the incredible food experiences that exist just beyond the highway.

The result is a fragmented local food economy where businesses compete for attention instead of benefiting from shared visibility, collaboration, and regional identity. We believe rural communities deserve better. Food is more than agriculture. It's tourism. Hospitality. Entrepreneurship. Workforce development. Community identity.

When these sectors work together, they create stronger businesses, memorable visitor experiences, and thriving local economies.

Our Solution

StoryLab exists to connect the people behind local food.

Through the Ok, Chenango Food Trail, our Culinary Farmer Residency, and the StoryLab Pop-Up Series, we help farmers, chefs, food entrepreneurs, hospitality businesses, and tourism partners work together to build a stronger regional food economy.

We create experiences that inspire visitors, develop the next generation of food leaders, and celebrate the stories that make our region unique.

Because when local food is connected, everyone benefits.
